PF Rule: There is great news of work for the employed people. From September 1 next month, if your Universal Account Number (UAN) is not linked with your Aadhaar card, your employer will not be able to credit your Provident Fund (PF) account. Actually, the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has to link Aadhaar with the UAN number before September 1, 2021.
Linking of PF account with Aadhaar is mandatory under Section 142 of the Social Security Code. If your Aadhaar is not linked with your UAN, then your employer will not be able to deposit the monthly PF contribution in your EPF account. Also, until the linking is done, you will not be able to take a loan or withdraw from your EPF corpus.
Benefits of services of EPFO will not be available
If this rule is not followed, apart from not getting monthly EPF contributions from the employer, some other services of EPFO will also not be able to be availed. This will also affect your contribution to the pension fund. It is mandatory to link your Aadhar card with the Provident Fund account to avail the benefits of the retirement fund. EPFO has also changed the rules for filing electronic challan and return (ECR) in June. It has allowed employers to fill ECR only for those employees whose Aadhaar is linked with UAN.
PF Rule: Know what EPFO said?
EPFO has asked employers to ensure that Aadhaar is linked with UAN for seamless access to services. If the amount is not deposited in the PF account of the employees due to the non-linking of Aadhaar with UAN, then they will also lose interest in that amount.
