Good news for migrant ration card holders, ‘Mera Ration’ mobile app launched

The Android-based mobile app ‘Mera Ration’ developed by the National Informatics Center (NIC) is currently available in Hindi and English.

For the convenience of ration card holders of other states, the Center has launched a mobile app ‘Mera Ration’ on Friday. This app helps ration card holders, especially ration card holders from other states, to identify the nearest government cheap flock shop in their area of ​​migration, check their eligibility or quota details and get information on recent transactions.

NIC has developed the app

The Android-based mobile app developed by the National Informatics Center (NIC) is currently available in Hindi and English. Gradually, it will be made available in 14 languages. Under the National Food Security Act (NFSA), the government supplies cheap food grains through PDS to more than 81 crore people at Rs 1-3 per kg. The government is also offering the ration card portability service ONORC i.e. One Nation One Ration Card in 32 states and union territories.

After this offer, Food Secretary Sudhanshu Pandey said that the new mobile app is aimed at providing services related to ONORC among the beneficiaries of NFSA, especially migrant beneficiaries, Fair Price Shop or ration shop dealers, and other shareholders. To make it convenient.

He said that under the key features, migrant beneficiaries can enter their migration details through the mobile app. Migrant beneficiaries can register themselves before starting their journey and the system will automatically allocate foodgrains quota. In addition, NFSA beneficiaries can identify the nearest fair price shop, they can easily know the eligibility details of their food grains. You can see the details of the last six month’s transaction and the Aadhaar seeding status.

It is worth noting that the government supplies 5 kg subsidized food grains per month to every person through 5.4 lakh ration shops.
