In the wake of the Coronavirus Pandemic, the government on Friday extended the validity of Motor Vehicle Documents like Driving License, Registration Certificate, and Permit till 30 June 2021.
In a consultation sent to the states, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has said that it is increasing the validity of fitness, permits, driving licenses, registration, and other documents. The reason cannot be extended and whose validity is over on February 1, 2020. Not only this, even if the validity is over by 31 March 2021, it will still be considered as an extension till 30 June 2021.

Deadline has been increased many times before
The validity of documents related to the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and the Central Motor Vehicles Rules has been extended several times. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has also advised the state governments that the validity of expired documents from February 1 can be considered valid till June 30, 2021. It was said in the consultation that the concerned authorities are advised to consider such documents valid till 30 June 2021.

The new license will be given only after the test of backing the vehicle
It will be necessary to pass a tough test to get a new driving license. Union Minister for Roads, Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari told in Lok Sabha that only those who get 69 percent marks will be given a driving license. Not only this, four and three-wheel vehicles will have to be backed up and told during the test.
