Here is How You can do UPI Payment Even Without Internet, Know Full Steps

UPI Payment Without Internet: In today’s digital age, our life depends heavily on the Internet. This is especially true when it comes to funding transfers and other online payment methods like Unified Payment Interface/UPI. Imagine what happens if you are sending money to someone and suddenly the internet connection goes out. Well, there is a solution for this too, so there is no need to panic. Actually, you can make UPI payments from your phone even without the internet. If there is no internet, *99# facility of National Payments Corporation of India i.e. NPCI will be of great use.

*99# is NPCI’s USSD based mobile banking service, which was launched in November 2012. Initially, this service was available only for BSNL and MTNL users. It is important to note that to make a UPI payment through *99#, your phone number must be linked with the bank account. Apart from this, one-time registration is also necessary on the BHIM App from the same phone number.

How to send money using *99#

Step 1– First of all open the dial pad of the phone and after typing *99#, tap the call button. This will take you to a new menu with 7 options. The menu will list options like Send Money, Receive Money, Check Balance, My Profile, Pending Requests, Transactions, and UPI PIN.

Step 2- If you want to send money only, then select Send Money option by pressing number 1 on the dial-pad. After this, you will be able to send money using phone number, UPI ID or account number, and IFSC code.

Step 3- Then enter the amount and enter your 4 or 6 digit UPI PIN to complete the transaction. Then all you have to do is tap ‘send’.
