Modi Government’s Gift: The Union Ministry of Labor and Employment on Friday announced an increase in the Variable Dearness Allowance (DA) for central employees. Its benefit will be given to 1.5 crore employees. Earlier the variable DA was Rs 105 per month, which has been increased to Rs 210 per month. It will be effective from 1st April 2021 only.
Due to the Modi Government’s Gift of variable dearness allowance, the minimum salary of central employees will also increase. The employees of railways, mining, oil fields, ports, and other central government establishments will get the benefit. This rate will be equally applicable to both contractual or casual employees.
Talking with news agency PTI, Central Chief Labor Commissioner (CLC) DPS Negi said the dearness allowance of employees working in the central sector has been increased from Rs 105 to Rs 210 per month. In a statement, the Labor Ministry has notified that the revised DA’s revised rate will be effective from 1 April 2021.

According to the Ministry of Labor, “At a time when the country is reeling from the second wave of the COVID-19 epidemic, the Ministry of Labor and Employment, Government of India has given a major relief to the various categories of workers engaged in various scheduled employments in the central sector.
