In this episode, this week the Reserve Bank of India launched the UPI123Pay initiative. The aim of this initiative is to make UPI payments more easy and convenient. The special thing is that under this initiative, feature phone users have got an option to make UPI payments. Through this option, people will be able to make UPI payment with a missed call. Actually, till now UPI payment could be done only from the smartphone. Can be accessed through UPI’s NUUP (National Unified USSD Platform) using a shortcode of *99#.
This method is quite new at the moment. This is the reason why not many people know about it till now. Let us tell you that there are more than 400 million feature phone mobile customers in the country.

Actually, the purpose of launching UPI123pay by the Reserve Bank is to motivate mobile users to make UPI payments. Four different options have been included in UPI123Pay.

– You will receive an IVR call, confirm that you want to transfer funds
– Now enter the amount you want to transfer.
Enter your UPI PIN and after that, the money will be transferred.

You can use the UPI123Pay facility to pay for certain things. For example, at the time of recharging fast tag for vehicles, at the time of payment of important bills (water, electricity bill), DTH, etc. to be recharged.
It also allows you to check your account balance information linked to UPI. Furthermore, the new feature will allow you to set or change your UPI PIN.
