Russia’s allegation – Ukraine took hostage of Indian students, said – Russian army ready to help in the safe evacuation

Russia’s allegation: Russia’s Defense Ministry said that its armed forces are ready to take all necessary steps for the safe evacuation of Indian citizens from the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv. An official of the Russian Embassy in India shared the details of the briefing of the Russian Defense Ministry. In a media briefing in Moscow, the Defense Ministry also alleged that Ukrainian authorities were forcibly detaining a group of Indian students in Kharkiv against their wishes to go to Belgorod.

The Russian embassy in India claimed that Indian students have been taken hostage by Ukrainian security forces for being used as human shields. The embassy tweeted, “According to the latest information, these students are actually taken hostage by Ukrainian security forces, who are using them as human shields and in every possible way preventing them from going to Russia.” The Kyiv authorities are solely responsible for this.

amid the ongoing campaign to rescue Indians trapped in Ukraine, the Eastern European country badly affected by Russia’s military operation. Discussed the safe evacuation of Indians from Ukraine. A statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said that Prime Minister Modi spoke to Russian President Putin over the phone.

The PMO said, “Both leaders reviewed the situation in Ukraine, especially in Kharkiv where a large number of Indian students are stranded. They discussed the safe evacuation of Indian citizens from the war-torn region. This conversation has taken place at a time when there is an atmosphere of concern in India about the safe return of Indians trapped in Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city. 

The Russian army is firing extensively in Kharkiv and the Ukrainian army is retaliated strongly there. Before talks with Putin, Modi also chaired a high-level meeting in Delhi. Apart from External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Union Minister Piyush Goyal, senior officials of the Central Government were present in the meeting.
