SC gets the NOD for NEET-JEE exam, six states reconsideration petition dismissed

New Delhi: JEE Main and NEET Exams 2020: The Supreme Court has once again cleared the JEE Main (JEE Main) to be held from September 1 to September 6 and the NEET UG examination to be held on September 13. It has become clear from this that now the JEE Main and NEET examinations will be conducted all over the country on their own schedule. The Supreme Court has today dismissed the review petition of six cabinet ministers from six states. Explain that a petition for reconsideration of examinations was filed against the order of August 17 of the Supreme Court, which has been rejected by the Supreme Court. 

The three-judge bench considered in the chamber about the JEE Main and NEET examinations. After considering the bench of Justices Ashok Bhushan, Justice BR Gavai and Justice Krishna Murari, it was decided to dismiss the petition by six cabinet ministers of six states to reconsider the JEE Main and NEET examinations. The Wali bench was headed by Justice Arun Mishra, who has retired. He has been replaced by Justice Ashok Bhushan.

What is the matter?

Actually, a petition was filed in the Supreme Court to reconsider the JEE and NEET exam. The petition filed through advocate Sunil Fernandes said that the Supreme Court order of 17 August has failed to secure the safety and right to life of students / candidates appearing for NEET and JEE examinations.

Petitioners include Molloy Ghatak (Minister-in-Charge, Labor and ESI (MB) Planning and Law and Judicial Department, Government of West Bengal), Dr. Rameshwar Oraon (Cabinet Minister, Government of Jharkhand), Dr. Raghu Sharma (Cabinet Minister for Health and Family Welfare , Rajasthan Government), Amarjeet Bhagat (Food, Civil Supplies, Culture, Planning, Economics and Statistics, Government of Chhattisgarh), Balbir Singh Sidhu (Cabinet Minister for Health and Family Welfare), and Uday Ravindra Samant (Minister of Higher and Technical Education, Government of Maharashtra ) Are included.

Significantly, on August 17, the Supreme Court rejected the petition to postpone the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) and Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) to be held in September 2020. Justice Arun Mishra, who was presiding over the bench, said that postponing the examination will put students’ careers in trouble. Justice Arun Mishra, while dismissing the petitions, said that life should also move forward in COVID-19. Can we just stop the exam? We should move forward. Would it not be a loss to the country if the examination did not take place? Students will lose the academic year.
