ESIC announced: The Ministry of Labor has said that if the state government does not insist on running the hospital itself, then all the new hospitals and future hospitals will be operated by the ESIC itself.
The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation has taken several steps to improve the supply of services to its beneficiaries. The beneficiaries of ESIC Health Insurance Scheme have also got the facility to get treatment in any private hospital near home. If there is no ESIC hospital within 10 km radius of the home of the beneficiary of the health insurance scheme, then the employee can go for treatment in the private hospitals included in the empaneled state insurance corporation.
The Ministry of Labor has said that if the state government does not insist on running the hospital itself, then all the new hospitals and future hospitals will be operated by the ESIC itself. This step has been taken on the demand of the employees. Its objective is to provide better medical services to the beneficiaries.
Decisions taken at the meeting :
In the 183rd meeting chaired by the Minister of State for Labor and Employment Santosh Kumar Gangwar, the Employees State Insurance Corporation took several important decisions to improve the supply of medical services and other benefits to the employees.
Great relief has been given to the employees.
ESIC has allowed all its members or beneficiaries to be treated in any private hospital in emergency. Under the existing system, the insured persons and beneficiaries who are under the purview of the ESIC scheme are required to go to the ESIC hospital and refer from there for treatment in the empaneled or out-of-the-box hospitals.
Online permission must be obtained within 24 hours
If a beneficiary is required to be admitted to the hospital, then the designated hospital must obtain permission from the authorized officer of ESI online to provide a cashless health care facility to the beneficiary within 24 hours. Guidelines issued by ESIC Headquarters in this regard are available on the website of the Employees State Insurance Corporation at www.esic.nic.in.
