Justice NV Ramana will be the next Chief Justice of India: President Ram Nath Kovind stamped the name. The current Chief Justice of the country, Justice Sharad Arvind Bobde is retiring on 23 April. President Ram Nath Kovind has stamped the name of the next Chief Justice of the country. He has appointed Justice NV Ramana as the next Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. He will take over on April 24. The President will administer him the oath.
Let us tell you that NV Ramana’s tenure with more than 45 years of judicial experience and knowledge of constitutional matters will be till 26 August 2022.
NV Ramana, who is from Andhra Pradesh, was elected as a permanent judge in the Andhra Pradesh High Court in the year 2000. He was in the Delhi High Court before his appointment as a Supreme Court judge in February 2014. 63-year-old Nuthalapati Venkata Ramana started her judicial career on February 10, 1983. He started as a lawyer from Andhra Pradesh.

He then practiced in Andhra Pradesh High Court, Andhra Pradesh Administrative Tribunal as well as Supreme Court. He is considered to be an expert on constitutional, criminal, and inter-state river water sharing laws.
