A fire has been reported at the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine due to a Russian military attack. Ukraine’s Foreign Affairs Minister Dmitry Kuleba tweeted that Russia’s military was firing from all sides at the Zaporizhzhya NPP, Europe’s largest nuclear power plant. The fire has already broken out. If it explodes, it will be 10 times bigger than Chernobyl.
Dmitry Orlov, the mayor of Energodar, a city near the plant, said in an online post that fierce fighting broke out between local forces and Russian troops. He said that many people have also been injured in this, but did not give any number. At the same time, according to the report of the Kyiv Independent, an air raid alert has been issued in Odesa, Bila Tserkva, and Volyn Oblasts. The residents here have been asked to move to a nearby shelter.

Russian Army Takes Control of Ukraine’s Major Port
The Russian military has taken control of a major Ukrainian port and laid siege to another as part of efforts to isolate the country from its shoreline. At the same time, Ukraine has called on its citizens to wage a guerrilla war against the invaders. The fighting in Enerhodar, a town on the Duniper River, comes as the two sides met for another round of talks aimed at stopping the bloodshed. The city is responsible for about a quarter of the country’s energy production.
Ukrainian military fighting Russian forces in Enerhodar
The mayor of Enerhodar, the site of Europe’s largest nuclear plant, said Ukrainian forces are fighting Russian forces on the outskirts of the city. Dmitry Orlov urged residents not to leave their homes. Separating Ukraine from the coastline would have a huge impact on the country’s economy and help Russia build a land corridor from its border to Crimea.
