IND vs NZ: Rohit Sharma has given a good start to Team India in the T20 series. The team defeated New Zealand by 5 wickets in the first match (IND vs NZ). Captain Rohit played a brilliant inning in the match. He scored 48 runs. Apart from this, Suryakumar Yadav played an aggressive inning of 62 runs. Playing first in the match, New Zealand scored 164 for 6 wickets. Martin Guptill and Mark Chapman scored half-centuries. In response, Team India achieved the target for 5 wickets in 19.4 overs. The second match of the series will be played on November 19 in Ranchi.

Team India started chasing the target well. The team had scored 50 runs without a wicket in the first 5 overs. After this, KL Rahul was dismissed for 15 runs by left-arm spin bowler Mitchell Santner. After this, captain Rohit Sharma got out after scoring 48 runs. He faced 36 balls. Hit 5 fours and 2 sixes. He added 59 runs for the second wicket with Suryakumar Yadav. Rohit’s wicket went to left-arm fast bowler Trent Boult.

Suryakumar played career-best innings

Suryakumar Yadav (62) has made the match one-sided by playing aggressive innings. This is Suryakumar’s biggest innings of T20 International. He also scored his third fifty. He faced 40 balls. Hit 6 fours and 3 sixes. He was bowled by Bolt. Shreyas Iyer 5 and Venkatesh Iyer were dismissed after scoring 4. The team had to score 10 runs in the last over. Iyer hit a four in Daryl Mitchell’s over. He also bowled 2 wide balls. Rishabh Pant (17*) and Axar Patel (1*) returned unbeaten. Pant got the victory by hitting a four on the fourth ball. Pant scored 17 runs in 17 balls. However, New Zealand fielded poorly in the match. He also dropped the catch of Suryakumar Yadav.

Guptill and Chapman’s half-centuries

Earlier, captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bowl. New Zealand scored 164 runs with the help of half-centuries from Martin Guptill and Mark Chapman. Guptill scored 70 off 42 balls and Chapman scored 63 runs in 50 balls. At one point in time, it seemed that the New Zealand team would score 180, but R Ashwin curbed the run-rate by taking two wickets in the same over. Ashwin took 23 runs in four overs and Bhuvneshwar Kumar took 2-2 wickets for 24 runs.

The match gave Venkatesh Iyer an opportunity to make his international debut. However, he did not get bowling in the match. He is being seen as an alternative to Hardik Pandya. Team India’s performance in T20 World Cup was not good.
