Government will import 4.5 lakh doses of Remedisvir

On the other hand, the government has placed an order for procuring 4.5 lakh doses of the anti-virus drug Remadecivir, of which the first consignment of 75,000 vials is expected to reach India on Friday. The Ministry of Fertilizers and Chemicals has given this information in a statement.

The ministry has said that to overcome the shortage of this medicine in the country, the government has started importing Remedesivir. The first batch of its 75 thousand vials will reach India on Friday. The ministry statement said that the state-run HLL Lifecare Limited has placed orders for US-based company M / s Gilead Sciences Inc. and Egyptian pharmaceutical company M / s Eva Pharma for a dose of four and a half million Remedesivir.

Government allowed import of oxygen concentrator for personal use through post, courier

The Ministry of Commerce said on Saturday that it has allowed the import of oxygen concentrators through postal or courier from the e-commerce portal for personal use. The oxygen concentrator has been included in the exempt category amid the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country.

According to a notification by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), this exemption has been granted for the use of oxygen up to 31 July 2021 for personal use only. The oxygen concentrator is a medical device, depositing oxygen from the surrounding surroundings. Demand for these devices has risen sharply amidst increasing cases of Covid-19 infection in the country. 

These devices filter oxygen from the air as opposed to oxygen cylinders, and only a certain amount of oxygen can be stored with their help. “Import of goods including goods purchased from e-commerce portals through postal or courier, where permission for customs clearance is sought as a gift, life-saving drugs, oxygen concentrator and rakhi (but rakhi) Restricted to products other than). The oxygen concentrator was previously not included in this list, and has been added due to increased demand following an increase in cases of Covid-19 infection.

More than 4 lakh new cases of corona registered in one day in the country

Corona has broken all records in the country on the first of May itself. For the first time on Saturday, more than four lakh new corona patients have been found in the country and 3523 have lost their lives. According to the latest data released by the Ministry of Health, in the last 24 hours, the first record 4,01,993 new corona patients have been found in the country. With this, the total number of infected people in the country reached 1,91,64,969. So far, a total of 2,11,853 people have been held. At the same time, the total number of active cases is 32,68,710 and the total number of discharged cases is 1,56,84,406.
