Boishkahi TV was appointed as the first transgender news anchor in Bangladesh to mark 50 years of Bangladesh’s independence. The name of this first news anchor of Bangladesh is Tashnuva Anan Shishir, who is also a talented model and actor. Tashnuva Anan Shishir started his new innings as a news presenter she will start on 8 March on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
According to The Daily Star, Tasnuva Anan Shishir made her acting debut in 2007 with the theater troupe Natua. She has been a part of the theater troupe Botola for over two years, during which she appeared in several roles in several productions. She is to appear in two feature films this year.

According to Daily Bangladesh, public relations officer of Boishkahi TV channel Dulal Khan told the media that we have appointed two transgender women in our channel’s news and drama team on the eve of Independence Golden Jubilee and Women’s Day. This is the first time the people of the country will see a transgender woman presenting the news in an official news bulletin, which has never happened before in 50 years of independence.
She said that on 8 March 2021 (Monday), on the occasion of International Women’s Day, Tasnuva Annan will present her first news bulletin on Shishir Boishkahi TV. Through this Boishkahi TV is going to set an unprecedented example in the country.
